The museum received very few donations last year and if you are having a sort out, please do consider donating items to the museum, particularly if you have photos of Mere or information regarding the families and history of Mere. We are fortunate to have some wonderful photos of Mere from the 18th century onwards.
Our current exhibition is celebrating the creation of the Mere Manor Youth Band in 1966. This was started by Adrienne and Bernard Howell as a way of introducing youngsters to musical instruments. Friends of Mere Museum Our new exhibition at the museum is live and we have some exciting events upcoming. There are plans underway for the group’s ever-popular plant sale and quiz, both will be put on by the Friends and Mere Museum. The plant sale will be on Saturday 11th May in the Grove Building.
Our new exhibition, at the museum, is now live. Opened on the 5th February, it explore the Mere Youth Band, founded by Adrienne Howell. The information in the exhibition covers their tours aboard and contest held locally. Were you a member of the band? If so, do come along and revisit those days.

The weather (at the time of writing) has suddenly become spring-like and the Friends’ famous and popular plant sale is nearly here. The latest exhibition, The Rutter Scrapbooks, is the collection of posters and documents which the Friends of Mere Museum raised funds to have conserved. It took the best part of a year for the work to be done and has taken a long time to catalogue at the Museum. Some of the posters are unique
