Mere Museum was founded in 1970 and has gone from strength to strength ever since. The collection now boasts nearly 9,000 items – all available for visitors to see!

Came to Mere to look at the cemetery, the museum is a little treasurer, enjoyed looking at the exhibition and photos.
Very interesting, well-presented and comprehensive. Lots of lovely local photos. Will take back ideas to Castle Cary Museum.
Well kept Museum of Historical events and artefacts. Much appreciated as a visitor to Mere. So many latter dates resonate with us as special occasions to celebrate too, so photos particularly made us smile e.g. 50’s, 70’s and 80’s particularly.

The Museum and Library are a credit to the Town of Mere. It is impressive (to say the least) that history is preserved in this way, especially for Mere citizens. Australia has nothing like this!
