The AGM of the Friends of the Museum will happen on Tuesday November 2nd at 18.30 in the United Reformed Church. Everybody is very welcome to attend, and there will be wine and nibbles after the meeting. We hope to see as many as possible! You can find more about the Friends of Mere Museum

Our new exhibition is now live (opened 9th August 2021). It is titled, ‘Memories and Mementos of Mere’. It looks at the past collection of objects and documents from around Mere. These pictures show our latest exhibition on the Union Workhouse in Mere. This was presented before the Covid closure and will be still up when the museum opens again. It was a very interesting part of Mere’s history to research and showed that not everything about the Workhouse’s was bad. However, Mere could be one
Having taking delivery of the Rutter Scrapbooks in January 2020 from the conservators at Chippenham, the volunteers started the task of transferring them into our system, by numbering, logging and individually storing each item.
